Overview
Crisis Pregnancy centers are fake reproductive health clinics that target people considering abortion. Their websites are misleading and full of misinformation. On arrival, patients are deceived with myths about risks of abortion, given inaccurate ultrasound reports, and are guilted about considering abortions or contraception. They are funded and run by the anti-abortion movement, receiving millions of dollars yearly. CPCs greatly outnumber abortion clinics in the U.S. and are a threat to the health and well-being of millions of our patients. The goal of this presentation is to spread awareness to providers and patients to limit the spread of misinformation and protect our communities from the dangers of CPCs.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Define Crisis Pregnancy Centers to raise awareness for our patients and communities
  2. Describe the harmful truths of CPCs and the importance of spreading awareness of these life-threatening centers posing as medical facilities
  3. Discuss how this is an issue affecting all provider types within all specialties who’s patients may be seeking any ob/gyn health
  4. Implement the solutions proposed in this presentation to ensure patients are informed and providers advocate for the safety of their patients
