This course is designed to provide practitioners with the most up-to-date clinical information on a variety of topics to assist in their care of patients living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C. Presentation formats include didactic sessions and interactive case presentations, followed by subsequent question and answer periods.

Arteriovenous fistula is the preferred dialysis access to provide hemodialysis. AVF has better morbidity, mortality, less need for procedures, and lower cost whencompared to other hemodialysis access options [i.e. arteriovenous graft (AVG) and tunneled hemodialysis catheters (TDC)]. However, AVF is complicated byprimary failure in 20-60% of the time. In this session we discuss updates on where we stand in preventing primary failure, current research, and future directions.
