This is an emergency medicine conference with various, evidence based topics with emphasis on practical clinical application to increased the knowledge and enhance the competence of attendees

1. Become more familiar with recognizing pediatric fractures and bony abnormalities on xrays as well as the appropriate treatments and need for specialty consultation.
2. Develop an improved knowledge of sickle cell disease in the pediatric population and become more comfortable with treatment and appropriate pain management.
3. Gain a better understanding of palliative care and how it can be used in the Emergency Department setting to improve the quality of patient care as well as overall satisfaction of patients and family with treatment measures
4. Learn skills to improve communication and charting to be more successful in dealing with potential legal situations in your career, assistance in navigating through the legal system
5. Develop a better understanding of the personal impact of addiction and recovery through the recounting of one person's journey
6. Recognize unusual presentations and appropriately treat some common neurologic disorders
7. Gain a better understanding of Acid-Base disturbances and improve diagnostic and acute treatment measures to improve patient outcomes
8. Develop a better understanding and knowledge of the updated pediatric shock guidelines.
