Overview
This continuing medical education program will focus on topics related to the neurosurgical management of neurotrauma patients. In each session an emphasis will be placed on the review of evidence-based guidance and recent literature. Case presentations will then be used to illustrate clinical applications of the literature.

In person Registration includes admittance to all sessions plus breakfast, breaks and lunch.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss the management of blunt cerebrovascular injuries in the setting of neurotrauma including the indications for vessel imaging, medical management and interventional management.
  2. Discuss the management of odontoid fractures in the elderly including the role for cervical collar with stable pseudoarthrosis as well as surgical intervention.
  3. Discuss the role of cranial decompression in the setting of severe traumatic brain injury.
  4. Discuss the application of functional neurosurgery in the management of neurotrauma patients including neuromodulation and ablative approaches.
