2025 Glens Falls Hospital Oncology Case Conference

Our cancer conferences provide a multidisciplinary approach to treatment planning and care of our patients utilizing stage, clinical indicators, nationally recognized treatment guidelines, and clinical trial availability, as well as genetic testing and counseling, palliative care, psychosocial distress screening, nutritional and rehabilitative services. Cancer Conference might also identify opportunities to improve the patient care process. Cancer Conference supports continuing education for the physician, other providers, and support staff. The faculty includes the attending physician, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, diagnostic imaging, and other allied staff. All Cancer Conference activity complies with the requirements in place of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC) 2020 Standard 2.5.

1. • Recognize the value of staging studies for each major organ system and understand their role in determining staging and treatment options for individual cases
2. • Increase their knowledge of the most up-to-date cancer treatment methods
3. • Provide a forum for multidisciplinary discussion and decision making for oncology patient care
4. • Incorporate current disease specific evidence-based guidelines into treatment planning (eg NCCN)
5. • Discuss and use the latest AJCC staging as applicable
6. • Increase their awareness and utilization of available clinical trials for patient care
