2022 Ironman Medicine

In conjunction with iconic Lake Placid Ironman, this program is designed for healthcare professionals who provide care for endurance athletes including but not limited to medical volunteers for the Ironman Lake Placid event. This course will involve lectures and case based discussions with regional sports medicine experts.

Student - $75.00
Fellow, Resident, Allied Health Professional - $100.00
Physician - $150.00

1. Describe the causes and treatment for exercise associated collapse in Ironman Athletes
2. Describe the presentation for hyponatremia in the Ironman Athlete
3. Discuss common reasons for gastrointestinal distress in an Ironman Athlete
4. Describe emergency care as it relates to swimming induced pulmonary edema and swim related deaths in Ironman Athletes
5. Discuss planning for a mass participation events
