Overview
The purpose of the pediatric teaching day we are organizing is to enhance the knowledge of general pediatric providers, enabling them to accurately diagnose and effectively treat children who have illnesses commonly seen by pediatric subspecialists. This will enable many children to receive their care locally from their primary care physicians, without needing to travel long distances to be seen by pediatric subspecialists. Additionally, through decreasing the total number of referrals to pediatric subspecialists, children who truly require subspecialty care will have greater access to the subspecialists they need to see.
