The Department of Psychiatry at Albany Medical Center serves as the academic home for a Psychiatry Residency training program, as well as psychology training programs (pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship). It is also the center for professional continuing education opportunities. These educational opportunities are a primary source of training for the clinicians and trainees within the affiliated Stratton VA Medical Center (Behavioral Health Division), and Capital District Psychiatric Center (State Psychiatric Hospital).

1. Increased depth and breadth of knowledge of the topic
2. Explain the knowledge, skill, and professional behavior necessary for the competent, empathic and independent practice of general psychiatry.
3. Recognize the interdisciplinary relationships of practicing psychiatry.
4. Discuss ways in which various mental health agencies can collaborate to achieve their goals.
5. Develop an improved understanding of chronic feelings of emptiness in terms of operational definition, prevalence, and theoretical underpinnings
6. Recognize the connection between feelings of emptiness and challenges with identity.
7. Review self-report measure for emptiness.
